There was some excitement in our household yesterday as we welcomed a new family member!
This is Tequila, and she's our new puppy dog! She belonged to one of Joe's friends, and he just couldn't take care of her anymore. She bounced around to two different homes before landing here with use. We are so excited to have her! She's super sweet, very loving, and incredibly playful. In fact, I think we wore her out!
Joe and I were a little worried about how Kitty Cat would react to having a puppy in the house. He's doing better than we thought he would, and so I anticipate that he'll get used to her within the week.
You might be wondering...why did we name her Tequila? Well, in case you haven't noticed with our previous pets' names (Wewii, Pablo), Joe likes pet names that are a little silly. We debated on names, tossed a few around, and Tequila seemed to be the one that stuck! It'll be funny to see people react to use say "Come here, Tequila!" while we are walking her :)
And don't worry, this isn't an April Fool's Day joke. She's really our puppy!
Let's move on to the main content for this post. It's already April, and 2014 is a quarter of the way through! How in the world did that happen?!? I set some goals for this year, and I thought this would be a good time to check in on my progress for those goals.
1. Deepen My Faith
Some days I feel like I'm doing this, and some days I feel like I'm not. There's a fear that I'm struggling with right now that's holding me back, but I am certainly making progress this year. One of the reasons is because of the Bible study I'm doing right now. I feel like it will aide in taking a big step in deepening my faith if I stick with it.
2. Run 14 in 2014
I've completed 3 races so far this year and have a bunch of others scheduled (including 5 more half marathons!). I have two races this month, and I foresee this goal being met for sure this year.
3. Reduce the Clutter
I am working on this. I've made some progress as far as reducing the daily clutter, but I haven't fixed any of the clutter that already existed. Summer project, anyone?
4. Make a t-shirt quilt
There has been just about no progress on this. I have selected a few of the shirts for the quilt, but that's about it. Again, I think this will be a good summer project.
5. Attend a Conference (or two or three)
I already completed this goal in January when I attended the FCTM Leadership conference. I just might get to 3 if I attend FitBloggin' in June and a conference for work at the beginning of July.
6. Do Something Adventurous
I mentioned skydiving when I wrote these goals, and I need to get in touch with Kristie to see if she still wants to do it with me. However, I have done something else adventurous this year: I rode on a motorcycle! Our neighbor across the street has one, and he offered to take me for a ride on it. I took him up on it earlier this month. It was pretty fun, but I definitely do not want to go any faster than we did on the ride.
For the most part, I'm making progress on all of these goals. I'm pretty excited about that!
Question for you: How are you doing with your 2014 goals and/or resolutions?
Haha I love the name! She is absolutely adorable! Looks like you're making great progress on your goals! I probably need to take a look at mine...
ReplyDeleteThanks! It was good for me to take a look at them. I'll probably do that quarterly for the rest of the year!
