National Running Day!

Happy National Running Day!  I hope that you have an opportunity to celebrate today by running in some fashion.  I know that I will be going for at least 2 miles this evening once Joe gets home from work.  I can't wait!
To celebrate National Running Day on the blog, I'm joining Kristen and other running bloggers for a little running-themed interview.  Hope you enjoy learning more about me as a runner :)
1. Why do you run?
There are many reasons why I run, but the main reason I'm running right now is as my "me" time.  I love hanging out with Baby Fish all day, but my running time is a good way for me to be alone each day.  Plus, it gives Joe some good bonding time with the baby on his own :)

2. How do you plan to celebrate National Running Day?  With a 2-mile run (maybe 3....we'll see!) this evening.

3. How many miles have you run so far this year?  So far, only 14.  This has been a walk-heavy year so far with the pregnancy and C-section, but I'm sure my mileage will pick up for the remainder of the year!

4. What big events do you have on the race calendar for the rest of this year?  The only event officially on the calendar is the Peachtree Roadrace on July 4th.  However, I've got my eyes set on a few half marathons, and the big event would be the Richmond Marathon in November (my first full marathon!).  I have not yet signed up, but considering that running postpartum has gone well so far, I plan to start training for it soon!

5. Before you leave for a run you must have:
BAMR Band, music, and some sort of GPS mileage tracker (either on my phone or Garmin watch)

6. Do you have one favorite app to track your runs?  I usually use RunKeeper

7. Who is your favorite running partner?

Tequila (our dog, not the liquor), but as soon as Baby Fish is old enough, I'm sure it'll be her!

8. What races have you run so far this year?  Just the Daytona 5K.  The rest of the year will be more race-heavy though!

9. If you had to give someone one piece of advice about running what would it be?  Don't compare yourself to others.  Everyone has different goals for running, so as long as you are meeting your personal goals, you are doing well!  It doesn't matter if you are faster or slower, running longer or shorter, racing or not, etc. than anyone else!

10. Describe your relationship with running in one word: Growing!

Head over to Jonesin' for a Run to check out many others' National Running Day interviews!  Happy running!

Question for you: Pick a question and answer it in the comments!
