HBBC Week 7 Recap

This week was the final week of the Holiday Bootie Buster Challenge.  After essentially taking two weeks off (except for two runs during those two weeks), I wanted to make sure to end the challenge on a high note.

Activity
I got in three days of exercise this week.
Monday-I ran 2.99 miles in the morning.  I was pretty pleased with this run after not getting in many runs during the holidays.  Plus, I felt really stylish in my new capris my sister-in-law gave me!  VT colors!
I also joined my sister-in-law for an hour-long bootcamp class on Monday evening!  It was a lot of fun, and I really challenged myself with some exercises I don't do very often (tire flips, box jumps, increased weights on many different exercise).  It was a blast, and it made me want to find a similar group in my area.
Tuesday-travel/rest day
Wednesday-in Jacksonville all day
Thursday-2.25 mile run with negative splits.  First run of the new year!
Friday-lazy/rest day
Saturday-I attended the Les Mills new release at my gym.  I went to 30 minutes of CXWORX, 30 minutes of BodyAttack, and 30 minutes of BodyPump.
I've been to CXWORX and BodyPump before (and enjoyed them, as always), but BodyAttack was new to me.  I REALLY enjoyed this class.  it's a high-intensity cardio conditioning/aerobic workout.  You can read more about it frm Les Mills' website.  This is something that I will be looking to add to my regular exercise routine!

Water
I did a great job this week of getting my 64+ ounces of water a day, meeting that goal every day except Wednesday.

Fruits+Veggies
I did not do so well with this during traveling, nor did I get many in this week.  I got 5-7 servings 3 days this week.

Points This Week: 28.24

Overall, I LOVED participating in HBBC!  Amanda does a great job setting up this challenge for people of all fitness levels to feel motivated and successful.  I would make sure to do certain things throughout the day or make a better choice so that I could earn more points.  Added bonus: I was being healthy, too!  I also enjoyed participating in Facebook group for added accountability and encouragement.  Amanda will have another challenge in the spring, so I'll be sure to post when sign-ups are open!

Question for you: How did you motivate yourself to make healthy choices this holiday season?

    1. Thanks! It certainly makes things more enjoyable when I'm not doing the same thing over and over again :)

  2. This is the 3rd time I've used the HBBC to power through the holiday season without hopefully gaining too much weight. I am on a workout streak with getting in some kind of exercise every day since Thanksgiving, but have really been failing on the water/freggie front. Impressed with all those who managed to focus on good eating and exercise this time of year. Great job getting it done! Our new gym had to cancel the Les Mills roll out yesterday due to snowstorm so I might try to go over tomorrow night to the makeup class and check it out. We'll see since they have also rescheduled my daughter's basketball and archery team practices for tomorrow night.

  4. Looks like you had a great week!! I love that your gym combines all of the launches in to mini-classes. My old gym used to do this, and I thought it was a great way to get exposure to some new classes that you've never tried before!

    1. You're right, the mini-classes are perfect. I really enjoyed BodyAttack and probably wouldn't have tried it otherwise.
