Baby Fish: 2 Month Update

As of last Sunday, we have a 2-month old in the house!
This past month has been another good one for Baby Fish (and the rest of us).  She experienced her first road trip to Daytona Beach,
her first boat ride,
her first plane flight,
and spent lots of time with both sides of the family!

Between my parents visiting, a trip to Gainesville, Joe's grandmother's 90th birthday, and a baby shower in Richmond, I think she saw just about all of her direct (grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc.) extended family!

Measurements
Height: 24 inches (90th percentile)
Weight: 12 lbs, 13 ozs (50th percentile)
Head Circumference: 16 inches

Eating
Baby Fish is still a great little eater!  She is still breast feeding exclusively, which seems to be working quite well considering how much she's growing.

She's still spitting up, but I think we've gotten better at burping.  I'm not too concerned about it because she's growing and she has the right number of wet and dirty diapers each day.  I just hope she's not uncomfortable!!

We have just started trying to introduce bottles for when I go back to work in early August.  She actually drank about an ounce before crying this time, so I'm optimistic that she will take a bottle by that time.  She's going to have to if she's going to eat while I'm working!

Sleeping
I think I can officially say she's sleeping through the night!  She sleeps 8-10 straight hours, wakes up to eat, then usually sleeps for another 2-3 hours.  She's a sleeping champ!

She is now in her own room sleeping in a Pack 'n Play.  We put the bassinet addition in until she gets more mobile.
We put her in a swaddle wrap so that she sleeps better.  She doesn't need it to sleep, but she sleeps better with it.  She wakes herself up with her arms otherwise!
We call her the little burrito when she's all swaddled up.  So cute!

She's been going to bed some time between 8 and 9:30, so she's normally awake for good around 8 in the morning.  She'll take a 3-hour nap starting between 11am and 12, and then usually takes an hour nap in the late afternoon.

Playing
Baby Fish has gotten so alert, expressive, and fun this month!
She smiles when she sees faces she recognizes.  This is her reacting to me while waiting at the pediatrician:
Just warms my heart every time!

We still play on the play mat with her, including this Nemo one we've been taking while traveling.
She's starting to hit at things purposefully, as well as attempting to grab them!  She's still not a fan of tummy time, though.
I know we need to do it with her more, but she just cries when I flip her over.

Her new thing this month is "dancing" while "standing".  She likes us to hold her up and bounce her.  She starts moving her head and hips like she's trying to dance.  It's really cute!

Baby Fish Likes:
-seeing people she knows
-rattling sounds
-being rocked
-playing on her play mat
-looking at lights and the TV
-"dancing" on our legs

Baby Fish Doesn't Like:
-being passed around in large groups of people
-tummy time
-waiting to eat
-changing clothes
-bath time (though it's gotten a little better!)

Happy 2 months, Baby Fish!  We love you!!
