Ultimate Coffee Date Weekend Recap

Hola!  Feliz Cinco de Mayo!  For those non-Spanish speakers: Hello!  Happy 5th of May!

We're going to do the weekend recap a little differently today.  I'm linking up with Jill Conyers for the Ultimate Coffee Date!

Basically, you and I are going for a virtual coffee date.  How does that sound?

If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you that Cinco de Mayo does NOT celebrate Mexico's independence.  Funny, right?  That's what we've all been told, but it's not true.  Oh well.  Let's go get margaritas later!
If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you that I enjoyed spending time with Joe's family this long weekend.  We spent time with them on Thursday and Friday in Gainesville, and my mother-in-law and sister-in-law came to Daytona with us on Saturday and Sunday.

If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you that we made a pit stop to Tangled Oaks Vineyard for some wine.  They happened to be having their Art and Wine Festival, which was a nice surprise!  It was pouring down rain, but we all shopped around while enjoying a glass of wine.  Joe and I wound up buying lots of fresh produce for the week, some cute bandanas for Tequila, and a case of wine.  We're set for a while!
Some of our purchases from the day
If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you that I ran the Stache Dash 5k with Katherine on Saturday evening!  We went there when it was pouring down rain, but it turned in to a light mist just in time for the race to start.  Katherine paced us, and the race went well!  Her goal was under 36 minutes, and we kind of crushed that.  Our time was 31:40, which was better than my last 5K!  Plus, a free margarita afterward made it that much better.  Full recap to come tomorrow!
If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you that the Spring Bootie Buster Challenge is over.  This week, I did BodyPUMP on Monday, ran the 5K on Saturday, and a 2 mile run/Bikini Abs from a Tone It Up DVD on Sunday.  I wish I had a stronger last week of the challenge, but with the funeral and traveling for that, workouts weren't the top priority.  I LOVE the challenge, though.  Amanda does an AWESOME job organizing and motivating everyone.  Can't wait for another challenge from her!

If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you that I can't believe my brother's wedding is less than 3 weeks away!  My bridesmaid's dress came in the mail (it fits!), and the bridal shower was on Saturday (so sad I missed it).  It's all happening so fast!
If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you that yesterday was a VERY productive day for me around the house.  I swept/mopped the floors, did a ton of laundry (towels AND bedspreads!), pulled weeds out front, and worked on reducing my clutter.  Joe's done so much around the house lately that I wanted to make sure I was pulling my own weight!  He mowed, but I'm glad I could do more of the tedious indoor stuff.

If we were having coffee this morning, I'd tell you that I really enjoyed church on Sunday.  The preacher talked about cleaning up the spiritual cobwebs of guilt, fears, and past hurts.  Philippians 3:13-14 says it well:
"But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize which for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
To do that, we have to lay down our guilts, fears, and past hurts to God so that he can clean them out of our way.  They may come back like cobwebs usually do, but the more we lay them down, the easier it gets.  Great sermon!

All right, I've done a lot of talking during this coffee date.  So now, I have a question for you: If we were having coffee, what would YOU tell ME?

  1. Love this!! A race with a margarita at the end??? Sign me up! Looks like you had a great weekend though! If we were having coffee today, I'd tell you that I'm really not feeling like being productive today! I was productive all weekend at home, and now I feel like I need a break!

    1. I know, definitely my kind of race! I'm kind of felt the same way today...I was productive at home yesterday, but at work today I just wanted to sit around. Oh well, I still got a lot done regardless of that feeling!
