WIAW #32: Farm-Fresh Produce

I don't know what it is about this week, but I have just been TIRED.  I usually head to bed around 11 (a little late, I know), but last night I started nodding off around 9!  It is a very busy time for year for us at school (End of Course exam time!), so it must be taking it all out of me.

Well, it's halfway through the work week, which means it's time for another...

Today's WIAW post will feature Tuesday's meals.  Joe and I purchased a lot of farm-fresh produce from the Art and Wine festival we went to on Saturday, so our meals have been extra fruit-and-veggie filled!  Thanks to Jenn hosting the link-up!  Head over to her blog for more about What I Ate Wednesday and to check out other bloggers.

Breakfast
Tuesday's breakfast was the usual--a bowl of cereal.  This week, I have Honey Nut Cheerios.  No picture, but y'all know what a bowl of cereal looks like :)

Morning Snack #1

We picked up some fresh strawberries, and I have REALLY been enjoying them this week!  They are sweet, juicy, and keep very nicely.  I also had some Chip-Ins popcorn chips.

Morning Snack #2
It's Teacher Appreciation Week, so I enjoyed some of the sweet treats in my box.  That's Something Sweet #1 this week, and my goal is to limit it to 3x a week.

Lunch

I had my usual salad, but this time I used fresh lettuce and blueberries.  The fresh lettuce is SO GOOD and really makes the salad easy to eat.  Also included: tomato, green pepper, and an avocado.  I was wondering how the blueberries and avocado would taste together, but it was a GREAT combination!  I also ate some grapes.

Afternoon Snack
Not long after lunch, I had a container of Chobani Greek yogurt (pineapple flavor).  I packed it with my lunch but didn't have time to eat it.  It was a great snack to hold me over when I was teaching an after-school review session.

Afternoon Snack #2

When I got home, I had some BBQ sunflower seed kernels from my NatureBox.  A full review is coming soon, but spoiler alert: these things are so tasty!

Dinner

More farm-fresh produce appeared in our dinner: steamed squash!  I enjoy steamed squash, but it was extra good being farm-fresh.  I also steamed some zucchini with the squash, and our main dish was tilapia with a lemon juice-honey sauce.  Very light but tasty dinner.

Workout
I made it to the gym later than I wanted to and missed the BodyPump Express class I wanted to attend.  But, I got in a 15-minute incline walk on the treadmill before a CXWORX class.  The class featured the new release, which I LOVED!  Annette, a blogger and Les Mills instructor, wrote a great review of the release if you want to hear more about it.  Side note: she reviews every BodyPump and CXWORX release, so check it out if you want to know more about a song and/or the moves in each release.

I am LOVING all the farm-fresh produce this week.  I'm thinking we're going to have to make some regular trips to the farmer's market from here on out.  It really does make that much of a difference! Good stuff!

Question for you: How often do you get farm-fresh produce?

  1. Loving the fresh produce myself right now! I go to my local farmers market every week if I can - it costs that little bit more but the quality (and friendliness!) is worth it ;)

    1. All the stuff we got was $20! It is a little more pricy, but we certainly got a lot for our money

  2. BBQ sunflower seeds sound awesome! I've only seen the flavored ones from the store with a whole bunch of questionable ingredients, but I think it would be great to find a less processed version. Looking forward to that Nature Box review.... Or I'll just need to find a way to make my own :)
