Let the Fitness Games begin!

First off, thank you so much for your congratulations yesterday on the big announcement!  I posted it on Facebook yesterday, too, and Joe and I are just feeling so loved by all the congratulations and support!  It means a lot to us that everyone is as excited for us as we are :)

So anyway, I have a review of a cool fitness app for y'all today that I think you'll enjoy!  How often do you get into a workout rut?  I am just coming out of one, and many times, it happens because I'm either bored with what I was doing or I lack the accountability and motivation to get back into the routine of working out.

Well, I think The Fitness Games helps combat BOTH of those excuses!
The Fitness Games is new app, promoted as "the social media of fitness."  Using the app, you can add friends, post gym selfies (come on, I know we all take them anyway!), and challenge yourself and other users to workouts on the app.
The app has four categories of workout challenges: Strength, Cardiovascular, Full Body, and Cross Training.  Each section features pre-made workouts (some given in certain versions of the app, and some are free!)
I found that I used the Cardio and the Cross Training the most.  For running, I would have a set distance in mind and set a time on the app that I knew would push me a little bit.
(Side note: my run using the app got cut short due to rain.  I had to quit the challenge which made me very sad!)
The only downside to running is that the app doesn't run in the background.  HOWEVER, The Fitness Games has already fixed this for Android, and the update for Apple is just awaiting approval.  It's awesome that the app-makers heard our feedback and fixed it right away!

I also like the pre-made workouts.  I use online bootcamps, blogs, and Pinterest to find workout routines, but it was nice to have them already on my phone.

Each workout features video of all exercises to make sure you are using proper form and working the right muscles.  So nice that that's all in one place!!
Overall, The Fitness Games is a cool app to use for workout motivation.  I have only used it to challenge myself so far, but I plan on using the "Challenge Near By" and "Challenge Friends" features in the future.

Question for you: Have you ever used The Fitness Games?  If so, what did you think?  If not, how do you motivate yourself when you're in a workout rut?

Disclosure:  The post was sponsored by The Fitness Games through their partnership with Fit Approach.  I was not compensated monetarily, but was provided the Platinum Version of the application for review.  As always, all opinions are my own.
