WIAW #7: Last Day of School

Oh goodness, another unplanned hiatus!  I'm so sorry, y'all!  I've been busy with finishing up the school year (it's officially over now!), going to Orlando yesterday for a concert, and the general craziness of life.

BUT, I'm back now and ready for another What I Ate Wednesday post!  Today, I'll be showing you what I ate on the last day of school yesterday.

This month, Jen wants us to focus on Sensible Snacking, which goes along perfectly with the Cleanand Lean challenge I'm participating in now (more information on that tomorrow).  Head over to Jen's blog Peas and Crayons if you'd like to find out more about WIAW.  As always, thank you Jen for hosting the link-up.

Breakfast
This is a new-to-me cereal that was on sale at the store this week (with fuel points, too!).  The brand boasts it as a natural energy cereal, and I must say, I noticed a little bit more energy in the mornings that I've been eating it.  I paired this with a to-go mug of green tea instead of the usual coffee.

Morning Snack
I'd say that this snack definitely qualifies as sensible!  I keep a bag of natural almonds under my desk at school, and I brought some strawberries I picked up at the store this week to go along with the protein.  Yum!

Lunch
I forgot to take a picture of my lunch, but here's what I had:
  • A salad made up of baby spinach and topped with tomato, onion, cucumber, green peppers, and orange peppers.
  • Baby carrots
  • Cantaloupe
  • A Dannon Oikos Blackberry Greek yogurt
My usual lunch but still yummy!

Afternoon Snack #1

See the cupcake in there?  That was my first snack of the afternoon.  A few of my students found out about my birthday, and they brought me these balloons, cupcake, and chocolate.  What sweethearts!  I was so touched.  The cupcake was delicious, though not such a sensible snack :)

Afternoon Snack #2
After school ended, I hopped in the car and drove to Orlando for a concert.  I packed some green pepper slices and my go-to Nature Valley Protein bar (Salted Caramel) for an on-the-road snack.  I'd say, definitely portable and sensible!  I wasn't able to snap a picture of both since I was driving, but I decided to recycle a previous picture of the protein bar.

Dinner
I arrived at the concert venue very early and didn't want to just stand in line and wait for the doors to open.  I found an outdoor restaurant/bar in Downtown Disney called Splitsville (also a bowling alley inside) and ordered dinner and drinks.
Dinner was the Tiajuana Chicken sandwich, which was delicious!  It had salsa, avocado, tomato, lettuce, and onion on top of grilled chicken.  The fries were absolutely great, as well.

After my wonderful dinner, it was time to head to the House of Blues for Fall Out Boy!
I used to be OBSESSED with them (and obsessed is putting it lightly), and this was my 10th time seeing them.  The concert was awesome as usual, especially after not seeing them for almost 5 years!  That has nothing to do with what I ate, but I wanted to share that with y'all anyway :)

So, I'd say that was a successful day of sensible snacking (minus the cupcake) filled with delicious meals!

Question for you: Do you/did you have a band that you were obsessed with?  What was a sensible snack that you ate yesterday?

  3. I was moved enough to post a thought :-P I do have some questions for you if it’s okay.
Is it simply me or does it seem like some of these remarks come across as if they
are written by brain dead people? And, if you are posting
at other places, I would like to keep up with everything new you have to
post. Would you list the complete urls of all your communal sites
