TV Commercial Workout

Hey everyone!  Hope your week is going along smoothly.

I mentioned before that I'm participating in the 28-Day Blog Challenge.  One of the things I've done to improve the blog is change the headings of each "section" of the blog to just "Food", "Fitness", and "Faith".  I also made cute little section headings.  I hope this will help make the blog easier to read!

Today's workout was an at-home workout in front of the TV.  The Bachelor was on for a second night this week, and I decided to get my core workout in from the comfort of my own home.

I usually enjoy coordinating workouts to things that happen a lot during TV shows (like this one for Dancing with the Stars), but today I decided to make up a work TV commercials workout.  Each time the commercials came on, I used my time wisely by following this workout:
Some of the moves were inspired by Tina's plan for core work during this phase of Best Body Bootcamp, and some of them are just ab work favorites of mine!
Sean moved before the picture took!
I did 6 rounds of this workout, which was every commercial break during the first hour of the show.  This was the perfect way to make the commercial breaks fly by!  I finished the 2-minute routine with time left to check Twitter/finish up this post before I needed to turn my attention back to Sean and his ladies.  My favorites to this point?  I think Catherine and Lindsey are both adorable, but Dez has been my favorite since very early on.

One of my goals for the last phase of Best Body Bootcamp was to eat at least 6 servings of fruits and vegetables.  I usually eat lots of vegetables; I take a salad to school for lunch, and my favorite part of dinner is always the vegetable side dishes.  Fruits are another story, though.

This week, I made an effort at the grocery store to purchase quick, easy fruits that I can snack on and include in my lunch.  Here are some things I bought:
Fruit Cups--easy to grab and throw in my lunch box!
A bag of madarins--easy to peel, quick to grab, and lots of them in this one bag!
I also bought a bag of apples.  They last longer, but there are plenty of them for me to eat one a day for about two weeks!

For me, snacking well is all about convenience.  The more I can buy at one time (and that will last for at least a week), the more likely I am to eat a piece of fruit every day.  Hope you'll find these suggestions helpful, too!

Questions for you: I've shared mine, now what are your favorite easy, healthy snacks?  For you Bachelor watchers, who is your favorite?

  1. Oh yes those easy to peel little oranges are a must! I like apples too. I keep around Larabars because those are pretty good. Occassionally I will have some type of nuts (almonds, pistachios, etc). But pineapple is delicious!
